This presentation will focus on the Derecho event that struck County of Linn, Iowa, on August 10, 2020. The county was struck with 140 MPH winds that devastated the whole community. This presentation will provide an overview and short timeline of the events leading up to the Derecho event, the effects of the storm on the community and complications of such a widespread, unplanned event. Also provided will be lessons learned and things to consider should your community be affected in a similar way.
