Bio

Brandon Barnhardt is a native of Charlotte, NC. He graduated form The University of North Carolina Wilmington where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. Brandon has been a public servant for 18 years with the past 6 years working as a Risk Manager for the City of Charlotte. The Risk Management Office provides insurance, claims, and loss control services for the City of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education, and three other quasi-governmental entities. During this time Brandon has focused on loss control & workers’ compensation. Prior to beginning his work with the City of Charlotte Brandon worked for the North Carolina Department of Labor, OSHA Division for 12 years. While there Brandon was an OSHA Compliance Officer before being promoted to assist with the management of the Carolina Star Program (Voluntary Protection Program equivalent). Brandon is currently the President of the Charlotte Regional Safety & Health Conference and in his spare time enjoys hanging out with his wife Katie, and attempting to minimize the risk to his two sons, Taylor (16) and Liam (7).
